I’m (among other things) a sometimes-freelance magazine writer and all-times house and home interiors obsesser. In my free time I like to rearrange my furniture (let’s just try it on that wall, shall we?), or drive around Oxford, Miss., where I live, looking at houses I can’t afford and imagine myself rearranging my furniture in them. And I feel you – couches are expensive, last forever and are usually the anchor piece of furniture around which a room revolves.
